Product Description
You can prepare appetizing, nutritious meals at the speed of light with this new InfraWave Oven. Cooks up to 50% faster with no pre-heating. It uses infrared radiation to cook the food, allowing for faster cooking times more similar to microwaves than ovens. It has a 12" pizza capacity, a digital touch pad, a digital display and a slide out crumb tray. The especially unique aspects of the InfraWave are its ability to 'know' how to cook your food based on the settings you choose. It's energy efficient and toasts on the outside like an oven at the speed of a microwave. Ability to cook from frozen without the inconvience of having to thaw. Amazing cooking tool. Has 65 digital pre-settings for one-touch ease. Includes two trays, a slide rack and a handle to pull the trays out. Dishwasher safe pan for added convenience, simple, and quick clean up.

I am very impressed with the Infrawave Oven by Black & Decker. I was watching TV and saw the commercial for the item. I thought that nothing could be this good - but all of my expectations have been met. The Oven is as good as they advertised on TV. Dealing with Amazon.com has always been a pleasure.

reduces cooking time
Date: 2009-03-01 | Rating: 4
this product reduces cooking time by eliminating preheating. the foods turn out exactly as if you used your full sized oven. this oven is great for fast foods. i.e. pizza, toast, bagels, reheat leftovers. it is also ideal because it does not heat up your kitchen like a traditional oven does. i recommend this product.

Cooking Times way off
Date: 2010-01-31 | Rating: 4
I purchased the model 150 for my parents over a year ago and it works great for frozen biscuits other frozen quick foods. I recently purchased the larger FC350 to replace my counter top convection/rotisserie oven. I first cooked a 4lb beef roast that came turned out good and haven't tried the rotisserie yet. The oven works great for pizza's, croquets, pizza rolls etc. Be prepared to increase the cooking times, the preset times are way off. If the box says 22mins, it's going to take at least 22 minutes. The real savings is the whole house doesn't get hot and there is no pre-heating. I live in South Florida and don't know if the high humidity has anything to do with the big difference in cooking times. I am very happy with the ovens results, just wish the company didn't mislead every one with expected savings in actual cooking time. I'd like to see a forum with real recipes from actual users.

There is a reason most recipes are with frozen food...
Date: 2008-08-16 | Rating: 3
This oven only does slightly better than a typical rotisserie or toaster type oven. If you are broiling a steak, unless you like your meat well done, you should start with frozen meat in order to get a browned surface with a pink center. The recipe book that comes with it only has a few examples and the pre-programed selections do not accomplish a proper product without adjustments to the time. It has a setting for rising crust pizza (like DiJourno) which starts with 14 minutes. A regular oven is 22 to 25 minutes. At 14 minutes, the pizza had risen but the crust was still very soft and the cheese was not even browned at all. I added time, and ended up at over 20 minutes with a pizza that was too soft and floppy. The same with frozen french fries. I expected a web site that would give more direction in how to use the oven but all the B & D web site has is the recipe book in pdf form. As far as the rotisserie, the oven is not really big enough to even accomodate a medium sized chicken. I did do a small pork roast which came out nicely done. But it had to be a small roast to not touch the element guards. For the price, I was rather disappointed.

NOT Quicker
Date: 2010-01-09 | Rating: 3
The unit functions adequately, in that it does cook things, but it falls far short of its major selling point which is that it is suppose to cook faster. Black & Decker went so far as to equip the oven with a `smart' timer which takes the conventional cook times and automatically shorten those cook times to what they claim is the oven's faster cook rate. This has actually become an annoyance in that we enter a cook time of 1 hour, then the oven translates that to 45 min and we have to go back and add the 15 min to adequately cook the item. In time we will learn to counter this conversion in our head, but we shouldn't have to. I have yet to study if there is any electric savings.

Toaster Review
Date: 2008-03-03 | Rating: 5
I really like the bagle toasting feature. Regular bread is toasted a little slower than other toasters I have had.

it works, but man, it's like all plastic
Date: 2009-12-29 | Rating: 3
OK, it toasts, so it works as advertised. But the fact that the toaster is almost entirely lightweight plastic - except for the heating cage and the crumb tray - gives this the feel of a disposable product. I get that toasters aren't going to last forever, but there is something to be said for having a solid build-quality with durable-feeling materials. If this baby should meet the floor, the floor is going to win - I mean, a geriatric hip has more strength than this. However, if you are going on a long hike and want to bring a toaster and not be weighed down by a heavy item, this is the toaster for you. I bought this online; if I had gotten my hands on it in person at a retail chain I would have opted for another model.

This was a bad choice...
Date: 2008-12-15 | Rating: 1
I bought this item at a local store in mid-September. Three months later, the baskets no longer depress/close around the bread and so the toasting mechanism doesn't engage (and I get no toast)! It hasn't been heavily used (once or twice/week) or abused...the company is willing to send me a new one if I send them the plug and a check for shipping and handling, but that raises the price I paid for the thing to the point of "why didn't I just buy the more expensive one in the first place?" We have a 20-year old Toastmaster that I was replacing for the sake of my bagel fitting in the slot. Fortunately I didn't throw out the old Toastmaster! This toaster was not worth ANY stars but that doesn't seem to be a choice!

Does a fine job
Date: 2008-10-21 | Rating: 5
I was pretty frightened to try this toaster, but I had one several years ago and after trying a much more expensive model that took at least 10 minutes to toast bread, I decided to try it, despite all the bad reviews. And for $40, what more do you want? The oven does indeed turn off when the bell rings and can toast frozen bread in about 5 minutes, slower than a regular toaster, but much faster than the high end countertop oven that I tried. I waited about a month to write this review, because I was expecting to see flames coming from the unit, but so far it's been fine. I've used this to reheat pork chops and steak and it has worked quite well and I really like the hooks that pull the rack out about an inch when the door is opened.

Love this little toaster oven
Date: 2008-10-05 | Rating: 5
I can see that I'm the only one here so far that has NO problem with this toaster oven.Wow Can I be that lucky!! I just bought this at Lowes for $29.99. Everything toasted perfectly even, and I have to say , I was surprised it worked that good. The Bell went off with a Ding at the end of toasting, and the toaster turned off. I gave this a trial run, and I made english muffens, Garlic bread, and those tasty round breads from Costco. Everything toasted very even. I had this toaster years ago, and never had a problem with it either.I don't know what happened to it though! This is actually nice looking. Not as big as other toaster ovens.(I wanted a small one) I did like that when you open the door the rack comes out a bit. To get the bread out, I just put a plate under the rack and take a fork and move it onto the plate, Or use tongs. Not a big deal. Don't put your fingers inside it's HOT. Duh. I only bought this to make garlic bread for a couple of people, so I would not have to turn my oven Broiler on. I have a $400.00 hand made English Rowlett profesional toaster for 4 pieces of bread. It looks great, but I have to say, I think this toasted just as even! This toaster oven does take longer to toast. I won't leave this sitting on my counter. I don't like allot stuff like this sitting out, and I don't plan on using it very oven. But its not bad looking..It looks like stainless. So far I cannot complain. If something happens with this, I will be back to review it again.

I bought this toaster oven as a gift for my daughter and she loves it. She wanted something simple and not too large for her kitchen and this fits the bill. She said it works great and is sooo easy to use. So I guess it would be HIGHLY recommended!!!

Surprisingly good toaster oven
Date: 2009-08-19 | Rating: 4
It seems that the perfect toaster oven does not exist. Before purchasing this Black & Decker toaster oven I did quite a bit of research on all toaster ovens costing less than $125. Nearly all had a few very disappointed reviewers; none had a very high composite score from a large number of reviewers. I had been reasonably happy with a DeLonghi Model 400 (4-slice toaster oven), though like most toaster ovens it did not toast bread evenly. It died after four years. After 3 weeks of use by my family (used at least twice a day, every day) I can report that this Black & Decker works as well as one can reasonably expect from a toaster oven. It toasts bread and bagels fairly evenly, and the oven temperature seems to be fairly accurate. The 30-minute analog timer for the oven is a useful feature. I have rated this as a "4" instead of a "5" because the interior space (and oven bake pan) would be more useful if slightly bigger. But the benefit of the reduced volume is a small footprint on a crowded kitchen counter.

Happy so far.
Date: 2009-04-13 | Rating: 4
Black & Decker toaster oven I have only had this product for 6 weeks but so far I find it very satisfactory. I would like it even more if the timer control was on top and the temperature control on the bottom so it would be easier to see the timer without bending over.

The best toaster I have ever bought! Use it in an apartment and it works perfectly! Cooks anything thawed or frozen or fresh; bagel, toast, english muffin, muffin... anything you name it the best! Highly Recommended

I finally have a toaster even my husband can use! We do not have to have separate toasters for my english muffins, my son's waffles, & my husband's toast. Each setting does EXACTLY what is stated. This toaster takes a little longer to toast but toasts very evenly which is another plus in regard to other toasters. This product is fairly easy to clean. Black & Decker has always been a good brand but this one is the best yet! This puts the company in a more favorable position for my next purchases of household appliances (indoor or outdoor.) I highly recommend this product, however, make sure you have space as it is a fairly large toaster.

This toaster is wonderful! The slots are even big enough for thick slices of homemade bread. When my much-used old toaster died, I checked out many other brands and decided on this Black & Decker, and I could not be more satisfied.

The Toaster looks really great, has options for bagels and frozen items. Works great, best toaster I had so far . Only negative I found is electrical cord (less than 2 feet) which cheapens this product! Openings are wide enough for bagels and has two adjustable controls. After one month of service, superb product.

Easy Cooking/Heating
Date: 2009-10-14 | Rating: 5
Just bought this and love it. We're a family of only 3 and it more than suffices. Haven't used as convection yet but oven and toasting is a breeze. Minor adjusting time and temp as presets are automatic.I haven't really had to adjust anyway. Using it for breakfast and dinners. Not home for lunch otherwise would probably be using it for that. Great for my sons snacks after school. Won't be using my standard oven until the holidays when I have lots of people over. Wasn't the oven I was originally looking for but thankfully, this was in stock and cheaper as a perk. I paid $59.99 on sale. Well made with Black and Decker name to boot. Only con is it does get hot on the outside, just don't touch it! It was a great day!

I searched for a long time before buying this, it is great for heating up anything, we barely ever turn on our big oven now! the only problem is that the rotisserie is worthless! chickens dont come small enough to fit, plus the skewer pops out and doesnt spin! this is a great toaster oven but dont buy it for the rotisserie!

Nice toaster - great value
Date: 2009-01-11 | Rating: 5
I read lots and lots of reviews of toaster ovens before I bought. But it seems that very few people out there like the toaster oven they have. The ones with the highest ratings were only available online - and in some cases the shipping was almost as much as the toaster! I got this one at a local store - on sale. It is a nice compact size for the counter, yet seems to have plenty of space inside. Toasts very even (several settings - chose medium the first time and worked perfect). It has a timer so there is a bell when the toast is finished. I also like the fact that when you use the oven, you also can set a timer. My previous one did not have this and many times I would forget to shut it off and it would run for hours (very dangerous). I am very pleased with this toaster oven overall -- it does the job it is supposed to and is a great value for the money.

works great for me!
Date: 2009-08-06 | Rating: 5
I was a little worried about getting a "low end" appliance like this, but it does everything I need to. Keep in mind that I'm no chef, but this thing works great, in my opinion. Cooks frozen meals, heats things up, does toast, etc. If you're serious about cooking, this probably wouldn't work for you. Works for a "bachelor pad" application though, which is why I use it for.

SO FAR SO GOOD
Date: 2008-07-29 | Rating: 4
I've been using this model for a year now and am quite satisfied. I love the convex glass making it much more functional. I've had many toaster ovens over the past 40 years and have come to expect a certain lifespan. I do see that with this oven the upper heating element has been redesigned and your less likely to hit it and cause it to be useless. SO FAR SO GOOD. The integrity of the unit is good. Still looks bright and fresh. I do notice when I'm toasting 4 slices of bread steam/smoke leaks from the lower right corner of the door. Doesn't seem to be a dangerous condition. Toasts pretty well takes a tad longer than regular toaster. I'm satisfied. Bought it at Kohl's on sale at very good price and am watching for the next sale to buy a spare. But that's just me. I recomment this toaster oven.

Good enough
Date: 2009-06-08 | Rating: 4
Like one of the other reviewers, I purchased this model to replace an old B&D "under-the-shelf" model. My only complaint about this new model is that it's bigger and more awkward than my old one was, and than it needs to be. I also wish the directions were a little more "intuitive," so that guests could use it without needing to consult the manual. On the bright side, I think the new one toasts a little better than the older model. So far, unlike some of the other reviewers, my toast has not caught fire, although now I'm a little worried about that! (Those reviews were not available when I ordered this model or I never would have bought it, I just hope the other reviewers were the exception and not the rule!)

I bought this toaster oven so that I would not have to heat the oven for one or two items. The oven bakes very well however, I have not mastered the broil part yet, seem to burn things. I wish I had bought a larger one that would fit a pizza. I use Home Run Pizza's small pizza & this works fine in this toaster oven. However any larger pizza would not work.

Have Same Toaster Oven but in Black
Date: 2009-07-16 | Rating: 5
I have the exact same toaster oven except it is not stainless steel, but in black at a substantially lower price. A correction on the info, the timer goes to 60 minutes not 120. I do NOT use mine to make toast. I have a standard upright toaster for that purpose. Anyone who buys a toaster oven to make toast can expect poor results. This product is meant to be used for baking and broiling. I have used it only for broiling so far and found it to do as good a job as my big range. Chicken, steaks, burgers broil up great and at about the same time it would take it a regular oven. When broiling use the top position with the rack facing upwards, getting the food as close to the heating elements as possible without actually touching them. This will insure thorough broiling and quicker cooking. Again, this all depends on what your broiling. I did use once for cooking a frozen pizza and the convection feature seemed to make the cooking of the pizza more even. Highly recommended. A good value for the price.

It does a good job
Date: 2009-02-17 | Rating: 4
We bought this toaster about two months ago, after much research. Our old one was a simple, cheap one from Sunbeam, which lasted about ten years until the lever for toast broke. I never really wanted a "convection" toaster, but I decided to give it a try because I thought it might save energy when baking. It actually does a very fast job at that, much more efficient than the regular oven we used before. I used the broiler just once so far and it works well. Toast is very good: crunchy on the outside, moist inside (but that depends on taste). One gripe is with the knobs, which are hard to grab. The design of the knob is especially annoying in the timer, because it just sort of slides to the desired time, there's no way of precisely selecting the position, like a good stereo knob would. We haven't quite found the best spot on the timer for the perfect toast, I'm having to rely on visual clues and often just take the toast out before the timer rings. The tray is easy to clean and slides out conveniently. The hooks on the door hinges that make the rack slide out make it difficult to close the door completely - we decided to fold ours in and not use them, so the door closes correctly. Be diligent when shopping for this item, prices vary widely from place to place and you may overpay.

Better than expected
Date: 2009-10-14 | Rating: 4
I've been using this oven for over 2 months now,so far so good. For a 6 slice oven its a good size, not too big.The crumb tray slides out completely, that makes it easy to keep the oven clean. Please take the time to read the manual. It has a couple of good tips about using the oven. The toast function is fast. It does not use convection feature for toasting. I've baked eggplant and butternut squash in it. It takes almost the same time as a normal sized oven, but saves a lot of energy and does a good job. The broil feature works well too. I'm looking forward to baking pizza in it.

It caught fire
Date: 2010-01-08 | Rating: 1
It caught fire while toasting. One minute it was underdone, the next the oven is on fire. Luckily we were right there and had a fire extinguisher in the kitchen. Looking around a bit on consumer sites and I see this is not uncommon. If it had been used more than a few times, I could say it must have been due to debris, but this thing was spotless.

Caught on Fire!
Date: 2010-01-15 | Rating: 1
This oven was relatively new. We threw in a piece of food for a quick snack. Coming back earlier than normal to check on the progress, we found a freakin' fire inside. Mistake was opening the door (to put it out). Flames shot out overhead. Really frightening. Smoke was coming out the vents and the entire inside of the oven was engulfed in flames. Uh.... draw your own conclusions...

Newer Version of an Old Favorite
Date: 2009-09-23 | Rating: 5
I was very disappointed when B+D changed the mounting for the SpaceSaver ovens. Rather than spend $40 every three years to replace the oven (and simply slide it into place), now I have to spend MUCH more and hang another version of B+D's infernal mounting devices. First: the oven is essentially the same as the old analog version. It has a digital temperature indicator, but I don't know if it's any more accurate than the former analog version. Also, the rack no longer has the little doo-hickey that would slide the rack out as you open the overn door. Mounting is typical B+D. Throw away the instructions and the mounting hardware, they will only frustrate you. I took the hood, temporarily fastened it to the cabinet with two C clamps, drilled starter holes through the mounting holes, then used my own screws and spacers to mount the oven hood. I used screws that were one-quarter inch longer than those supplied by B+D and spacers that fit more tightly on the screws (the B+D spacers were so loose, they recommended someone help hold the spacers rather than provide spacers that actually fit the screws) (SIGH). The oven works fine. No complaints. It does (as some mentioned) require three pokes at the buttons to toast (as opposed to simply pushing the lever on the analog model), but that's what's so great about technology for technology's sake: You can have a kewl digital display that requires more work and provides no discernable advantage, yet people still buy the product. Go ahead and buy it.

Nice toaster

I like the new style - more modern & sleek. Pro: Modern/sleek design; black/silver matches my stainless steel appliances Con: Unit larger than previous ones, but smaller inside. Crumb tray hangs from unit & crumbs fall out when opened. Previous unit had slide out tray, alot easier to clean. But overall it is a nice unit.

WONDERFULPRODUCT

Black & Decker TROS1000 Spacemaker Oven This toaster oven works great. You get a full size toaster oven in a convenient under the counter space. Works great with automatic pre-heating and shut-offs and notification of finished beeps.

What' s the problem?

I read all the reviews and was a tad reluctant to buy this unit but, past year's experience with B&D urged me to go ahead. I'm glad I did. Let me first tell you....I'm a 64 year old female. I followed the instructions line by line and had my unit installed in less than one hour. I don't understand all the hype about installation!

Great product

Great features for the price
Date: 2008-04-24 | Rating: 5
I recently purchased this oven and so far, I am quite pleased with it. For the price, it has many more features than ovens that are substantially more expensive. The oven feels solid and well built and looks very nice, the brushed stainless steel and black trim are quite sharp and it blends in easily with most modern kitchen appliances. There is no internal oven light but the elements glow enough for you to view the food through the clear glass front making it easy to check on the progress without opening the oven door. It is a bit larger than a standard toaster oven but can fit substantially larger items inside, including a 12 inch pizza. You should check the dimensions of the appliance before purchasing to make sure it fits your needs and your counters for that matter. The controls are mostly intuitive but you may have to fiddle around with it a few times before you get the hang of it. There are quite a few different options but they are self explanatory for the most part. The buttons are clearly marked with letters and a picture, which also shows up in the display when activated. The display is bright and easy to read with the digital timer and temperature setting flashing consecutively. The timer can be set for up to two hours, which is a rare find. The oven beeps with each button push and also beeps 3 times when the timer expires. It's loud but not obnoxiously so. The oven temperature can be adjusted by 5 degree increments which believe it or not is quite rare. Many other manufacturers have preset temperatures that don't always make sense and can not be altered, which is far from practical. The oven preheats quickly and seems to maintain a steady temperature with or without the fan. The fan is surprisingly quiet especially compared with some of the more expensive ovens. Food seems to cook evenly though you do need to make sure you keep items at least 2 inches from the top element or it will burn. Larger items will typically need to be rotated at least once during cooking to ensure even browning. Toasting takes a bit longer than a regular toaster so those of you new to toaster ovens, please keep this in mind. This oven does a nice job of toasting though you may need to adjust the rack and you do need to keep an eye on it until you find the setting that suits you best. The bagel feature is also nice as it toasts the top while only warming the bottom. The pans included with the oven are the standard broiler pan and baking tray as well as a pizza pan. The pans are a bit flimsy but many regular baking pans will easily fit into this oven and produce better results. Using the pizza pan for baking pizza will result in a very soft crust. If you want it crispy, bake directly on the rack. The rack can be adjusted to four different positions which allows for a bit more flexibility in terms of what you can fit inside the oven. Since the rack is adjustable it is not attached to the door so you have to manually slide it out to remove items but the door opens completely and lies flat so the access to the interior of the oven is easier. The oven does get quite hot but hey, it is an oven. Just make sure the oven is located in a place where hands would not come into contact with the sides, front and especially the top. Take note of the height of the oven and make sure that there is adequate clearance on the sides and top of the oven before purchasing. The bottom of the oven does not get hot so countertops should not be damaged. The glass door also gets quite hot but the handle remains cool. The crumb tray pulls straight out from the front and is completely flat so clean up is a snap. The interior of the oven is also easy to clean as is the outside of the oven. The power cord is a bit longer than usual which gives you added flexibility with placing the oven but you have to be careful the cord does not touch the sides of the oven as again, they do get quite hot. All and all I found this oven to be very much worth the price. It has many more features than more expensive ovens. It looks nice and so far, seems to work quite well.

Excellent product

I bought this toaster oven as a gift for my mother. I read the reviews before buying it, and almost didn't get it. A few were negative and complained about the oven getting too hot while toasting, or the handle being too close to the glass for your fingers to use it. Also, someone mentioned that it took so long to toast a slice of bread. There was a comment on its size being too large. (You should know what size oven you want before you buy any oven.) We are TOTALLY happy with this product, and did not agree with the negative reviews at all. I have waited a while before writing this review, so that I could give an accurate account on our own experience with this oven. We have no complaints whatsoever. My mother is thrilled with it and has toasted, broiled & baked many times. She absolutely loves everything about it. Don't hesitate to buy this oven, you will love it!

Black & Decker 6-Slice Convection Toast-R-Oven, Stainless Steel

I purchased this product for a gift for someone in my family. Feedback from my family was positive in every way. Becausse of its size, its convection capability, the variety of baking/toasting settings and its overall smart appearance, they stated that this toaster oven is the most versitile small appliance in their kitchen. Needless to say, they were thrilled with their gift.

Great product, but hmmm ...
Date: 2007-12-01 | Rating: 5
Yes, what eactly is that 'hmmm' sound coming from this unit whenever it's plugged in? Has anyone else heard it? Appears to be some kind of transformer or power supply humming that energizes the display, which should be the only thing on, when this device is OFF, right? Hmmm.... Aside from this minor annoyance, all I can say is this is a terrific product, replaces my old B&D toaster oven "Dining In" oversized, white unit. The white was looking more yellow than white (due to age & heat), so it was time to upgrade to the new black & stainless look. And look good it does, blending well with other newer appliances. The push button quick settings are awesome, it even sets the appropriate time for perfect toast, bagels, pizza, potatoes, frozen foods, and yes, a 12" pizza will fit comfortably inside. Another great feature, the slide out crumb tray has no edges (where the crumbs invariably get stuck) so this is an easy wipe clean affair. The front glass is convex, along with the rear oven wall, so as to maximize interior volume. The beeps associated with the buttons are a bit loud, so you late night snackers, beware, you will wake up the heaviest of sleepers, and you'll hear "...eating again? Get back to bed!" for sure. Overall, I am very pleased and recommend it highly. As for reliability ... hmmm .... we'll see ...

Lots of versatility, spacious, turns out a perfect cookie, too!
Date: 2008-02-28 | Rating: 5
Short and sweet, this is a terrific little oven when you do not wish to use your regular oven. It is spacious inside, does a commendable job of baking and toasting, and will accomodate my smaller airbake cookie sheets perfectly in the rack slots without having to use the rack in the oven. This method produced perfectly baked cookies, something I have found lacking in other toaster ovens. The convenience buttons are a no-brainer for my husband to use and get decent results, the traditional functions/controls work well for those more adept at baking and cooking. The slide out crumb tray is a big improvement over older models that had hinged doors and required hoisting and inverting the oven to clean it out. The inclusion of a pizza pan is a nice touch, too. Yes, it is larger than many, but when you want to do more than just toast two slices of bread, it opens up the door for a lot of possibilities. As for the comment about the exterior getting hot... well, yes, it does. After all, it IS an oven, and I've yet to find one that did not.

Great Toaster-Oven
Date: 2009-11-02 | Rating: 5
I rate this toaster oven 5 stars, not because it is the biggest, best toaster oven out there, but because for the PRICE, it's a great mid-size countertop oven, it's very attractive, it has good basic features with easy dials, and toasts evenly and has a good size interior. Amazon ought to carry this themselves and offer free shipping. I actually got mine from a department store this week for a cheaper price (loss leader probably). That other post with 1 star was kind of bizarre, getting the wrong rack?? Maybe he got a return or something but these come very well packed. A few features I like about this one is the wire shelf is reversible, no surprise there, but turned one way, it has a wire lip that the enclosed tray can slide under attached, which helps during the baking process to catch any overflow drips. Then your baking pan can sit right on top of the rail. I also like the pull out crumb tray from the front, easy to clean and put al. foil. The sides have little hooks that the wire rack can slide into and it pulls out the rack a slight bit when you open the oven, makes it easy to grab your toast. The front handle is screwed in, all very secure. The cord is shorter than most, but I consider this a plus. Most people place the oven right by a plug anyway and too long of a cord gets in the way. It's long enough to pull the oven out to the front of the counter tho if you are cleaning behind, etc. Black & Decker made a good one with this model.

Great for what I need

My toaster broke after seven years and I wanted a unit that would toast and broil. Didn't need a convection oven. I found this unit and was very happy about the price. It is quite attractive and matches my stainless and black kitchen. The first thing I did after cleaning the unit was make toast. I wanted to see how evenly it toasted. I must say I was quite surprised at how quickly and evenly it toasted. So I'm already a happy camper. The door has a nice size handle. The unit does get hot, but from what I read most toaster ovens do. Will write another review after I've had this for awhile.

Best bang for the buck, toasts & bakes great! Great features!

This toaster is five star to me because you can't beat the price and the performance. I am not comparing it to the expensive convection ovens. For an very inexpensive toaster oven you just can't beat the features, the price and the performance. It toasts evenly. It bakes evenly. I tried to bake some Pillsbury Crescent rolls and it did a better job than my regular oven. It has a wonderful timer feature that you can set up to 20 minutes. You can also opt to leave it on in the stay on mode. There are toaster settings. Best to watch the item you are toasting the first few times and know the time for your specific bread. It holds three large bakery style loaf bread slices. It does so much more quickly than the last Black and Decker model I had. The pull our crumb tray feature is a real time saver. Whether I need to cook fish, meat, or heat a hot sandwich, toast, or reheat...I find it incredibly wonderful for the price. THere are small saftey protusions in the back of unit so you keep it the proper distance from any touching surface. What more can I say? If you want a toaster over that is not reinventing the wheel then this is the model!! How can you beat $26.99?! Besides all this it does look nice. It is compact at just 9" deep x 16" long x 8.5" tall. Amazon had the wrong size listed on their site. I bought it from SEARS because they had a much better price.

An excellent and the best toaster oven I have ever had. I have browned french bread in it- baked shrimp tempura-prepared from Costco, and done a ton of other things with this. It is a touch hotter than the temp read but down adjust and works great. It is also excellently priced and bigger than a regular toaster oven. I now own two, bought one for a vacation home.
